MHS is participating in Red Ribbon Week again this year. Please see the attached flyers for info on this important week and various activities. Our students will have an assembly on October 21 that will focus on the dangers of fentanyl and Snapchat. Our community will have the opportunity to meet our speaker and interact with her the same evening at the Niles Theater. Knowledge is power and using that knowledge as prevention is our goal. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1D-C4tcE_Ncby0qo5UsG3FUZJ3jsiWpHg/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1W5t8XGQD0SfgnEH4KHOZ8wBmMEizDIrL/view?usp=sharing

ATTENTION SENIORS: EMT CLASS OPPORTUNITY! Applicants must be 18 by 07/01/2025. The course runs from 11/06/2024 to 03/08/2025 (the flyer has a typo). Students who might be interested should contact Modoc Medical Center—they may be able to help with the $500 tuition cost. Students will become registered EMTs upon program completion. Not only does this qualify students for in-demand jobs all over the country, but I believe EMT certifications can fulfill prerequisites for students attending nursing school or entering into the military. See flyer for details.

Happy HOCO Brave Country! Today, we celebrate 100 years of Brave football! A few reminders: 1. The office will be closed at 1:20 pm today so that Miss Janet & Miss Cindy can drive our royalty and participate in the day's activities. 2. Students must be academically & attendance-eligible to attend the game this evening and the dance tomorrow. We will have both lists at the events. 3. Be sure to show your Brave Pride and wear your purple & white or buy some at the game. Go Braves!

Attention Brave Families, We are excited for the upcoming MHS Homecoming Bonfire! Please note that this event is exclusively for Modoc High School students. Once our Homecoming King is crowned, any spectators who are not MHS students will need to exit so our students can enjoy the remainder of their evening. A friendly reminder that all students must be academically and attendance eligible to attend the festivities. The fun kicks off at 7:00 & concludes at 9 PM, and we can't wait to see everyone there!

Brave Families! MHS is movin' and groovin; and we need your help! Please consider becoming a part of or School Site Council. Why? Well...the School Site Council plays a crucial part in our school community by setting academic goals, reviewing and monitoring the school's improvement plan, and ensuring that allocated funds are used effectively to benefit all students. Your involvement will help shape the future of our school and ensure that we continue to provide the best possible educational experiences for our students. If you are interested or would like more information about joining the Site Council, please comment here, or call Mrs. Budmark at (530) 233-7201 x 404. We would love to have you partner with us!
